Who is Oliver?

Oliver Peoples for Frieze 2019

Oliver Peoples collaborated with Eclat to conceptualize and execute the launch of Who is Oliver?, a new eyewear collection, in conjunction with the first edition of Frieze Los Angeles.

In celebration of Frieze Los Angeles, Oliver Peoples hosted an invitation-only cocktail party and photography exhibit shot by Artist and Photographer Tasya van Ree at LECLAIREUR, the renowned art and design concept store in West Hollywood. The exhibit, titled “Who Is Oliver?”, drew inspiration from Oliver People’s latest icon and first namesake frame of the brand. The collaboration was powered by Éclat from concept to execution, and everything in between. The photo series and digital ad campaign featured 19 creatives shot in the new California inspired frame, carefully selected for their ability to bring life to the artistic vision and meaningfully promote the collection. Photographees sourced by Éclat included LA based tastemakers from a diverse range of industries, contributing to the overall concept of Oliver Peoples’ esoteric and creative identity (Dj Mia Moretti, Fashion Designer Alana Hadid, Photographer Brad Elterman, Natalie Bergman, Oliver People’s Creative Director Giampiero Tagliaferri, Designer Marc Ange, Brandon Boyd, Hanane El Moutii, Fatima Robinson, Xuly Robinson, Dan Brunn, Jack Kilmer, Nadia Sarwar, Ali Silverstein, Sarah Lineberger, Model Eva Doležalová, Ivan Comas, Jessica Craig and Artist Sebastien Leon).

The exhibit’s cocktail unveiling kicked off Frieze by welcoming artists, designers, and cultural tastemakers alike into the gallery to experience Van Ree’s work. Select guests and hosts acted as walking brand ambassadors, sporting the new Oliver People’s collection. Sips were provided by Yola Mezcal, Peroni, Mionetto and Our/Los Angeles Vodka, and music by DJ Mia Moretti.

Guests included Giampiero Tagliaferri (Oliver Peoples Creative Director), Rocco Basilico (Oliver Peoples CEO), Musician Brandon Boyd, Model Caroline Vreeland, Designer Marc Ange, Filmmaker Eva Doležalová, Photographer Brad Elterman, Actress Cameron Richardson, Singer Rebecca Black, Meryl Hadida-Shabani (Owner of LECLAIREUR Gallery), Actress Monet Mazur, and Artist Beau Dunn.
